Hi everyone!
I'm not sure this is the right place to ask, but is there any way to limit RAM usage of baloo file extractor, the file indexer of KDE Plasma?
I don't want to deactivate it completely, I find it usefull, but right now, the two processes are using 8GB + 5GB, that makes 13 (on my 23.3GB), I think that's a little too much to be honest.
Thank you in advance if you have any idea!

Are you actually running OOM or forced into swapping?
cat /proc/meminfoA file indexer will by nature fill the file cache, but that doesn't mean the RAM is "used". It's just not "free".

Baloo takes easily 75% of RAM, but I can understand that he can free it immediately, in fact, it's what he does, when I open a browser he cuts his use to 1/3rd immediately
Problem is he saturate the whole swap, or maybe push other programs to do it, idk
And reaaal problem is that the system is super laggy as long as I don't kill it. Maybe an I/O saturation, idk. Maybe not in bandwidth, my drives seems to sleep, but maybe more in number of accesses
But I haven't seen oom reaper doing anything remarkable
