[SOLVED] Nvidia 470 Wayland Optimus

I wanted to try using wayland with my nvidia gpu. Ihave found a few posts instructing how one could enable and switch to wayland.
However, under x11, i used to use the following method to use my dGPU https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA … phics_only

is there a similar way for me to configure wayland in order to explicitly use my dGPU with wayland?

What wayland? The compositor will matter.
Eg. try "weston --use-egldevice" for https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/?O=0 … -eglstream

im on a fresh gnome install with nvidia 470+, so mutter.

Only viable approach seems to be "i915.modeset=0" to disable modesetting for the intel chip.
nb. that you'll probably not get output from the nvidia chip to show up on the internal display of a notebook (since it's typically wired to the intel chip)

Ideally, deactivate the intel chip in the BIOS if possible. Wayland optimus support is still virtually non-existent.
