Native Steam games instantly close after getting launched.

Hi, I've been having this issue with Arch for the past few weeks, every time I try to launch a Steam game the game just instantly closes and I get no error message, I've tried with native Linux games with proton disabled and with games that don't natively support Linux with proton, none of those want to launch. If I try launching the game manually using

steam steam://run/[gameID]

I get this output

STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically
Steam runtime environment up-to-date!
Steam client's requirements are satisfied
WARNING: Using default/fallback debugger launch
/home/monziarch/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam steam://run/391540

and nothing else happens, and when I run steam from the terminal and then I try launching the game from steam I get this output:

/bin/sh\0-c\0/home/monziarch/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/reaper SteamLaunch AppId=1536610 -- '/home/monziarch/Secondary/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/SteamLinuxRuntime_soldier'/_v2-entry-point --verb=waitforexitandrun -- '/home/monziarch/Secondary/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/SteamLinuxRuntime'/scout-on-soldier-entry-point-v2 -- '/home/monziarch/Secondary/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/OpenTTD/openttd' -mfluidsynth:soundfont=soundfont/FluidR3_GM.sf2\0

I'm using Openbox as my WM and I installed steam from the official repo, I have installed all the drivers for my AMD RX580 8GB GPU and I don't think this is a driver issue, maybe I'm missing some packages for games to run or steam just doesn't work with OpenBox but I wasn't able to find a lot of info about this in the internet, I haven't tried to run the games on a full DE like gnome but I want that as a last resource because I don't really like DE's. Any help or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated!!

Re: Native Steam games instantly close after getting launched.

Hi, many games run through Steam have decided to stop working recently. I am also trying to find a solution to what I think is a similar problem and am making some progress.

Have you tried running the game manually with the binary that should be located somewhere in ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/...? Be sure to check the output for missing dependencies. You could also try installing steam-native-runtime.

Changing the DE shouldn't matter, I agree. Please post back if you make progress, though I think it's likely that we'll find the problem fixed by a random update before finding a solution. Thanks!

Re: Native Steam games instantly close after getting launched.

Any update on this? I'm running into the same issue and I can't find a way around it.
Things i've tried:
Different versions of proton - 5.13, 6.3, experimental,
Different versions of steam - from AUR steam-native, and regular steam from the official repos.
On manjaro 21. nvidia card. intel cpu.
I've gone through all the logs but I can't find an exact culprit.
