xorg crashing system freezing with blinking cursor

I have a thinpad p52s with kernel 5.13.6. Every now and then xorg crashes and my system freezes with a blinking cursor. I dont see anything in the journalctl logs. I'm not sure how to get info to debug whats wrong. Any tips?

Re: xorg crashing system freezing with blinking cursor

Try to reboot as cleanly as possible (does ctrl+alt+del work?) and check the journal of the previous boot as well as the (old) xorg log.
If you hit the power button, no errors/messages can be synced to disk.
If you can, try to ssh into the "crashed" system.
