[SOLVED} Set default user and directory

First post, search is giving error msg.
I'm accessing arch in VS code via WSL2.
It always boots up in [root@sp4 ~] and I have to 'sudo me' and 'cd' to get to my home directory..
How do I set arch to boot up as [me@sp4 ~]?

PS I've already added myself as user 'me'.

Re: [SOLVED} Set default user and directory

Thanks seth. I didn't twig it would be done in wsl. When searching I came across posts that described how to do it in arch by editing some file that didn't exist in my setup and was left wondering if this was because I was installing in a container so your second point is relevant. As I was doing it for the education I'm going to have to rethink this and setup a partition on my windows laptop or buy a second laptop dedicated to linux to avoid such confusion.
