Goes directly to the Grub prompt upon boot

After putting in a new SSD drive in my machine, I find that when I boot the machine, it goes directly to the Grub command line (not Grub rescue). Then I can enter the following into Grub and Linux boots correctly:

    set prefix=(hd0,1)/grub
    set root=(hd0,1)
    insmod normal
    insmod linux
    normal

I've tried re-running grub-mkconfig as follows:

$ sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg 
Generating grub configuration file ...
Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-linux
Found initrd image: /boot/amd-ucode.img /boot/initramfs-linux.img
Found fallback initrd image(s) in /boot:  amd-ucode.img initramfs-linux-fallback.img

Its output will be used to detect bootable binaries on them and create new boot entries.
Found Windows Boot Manager on /dev/nvme0n1p2@/efi/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi
Found Antergos Linux on /dev/sdb1
Adding boot menu entry for UEFI Firmware Settings ...
done

It seems to find everything correctly, but restarting stills brings me to the Grub command line.

Why don't I get the usual Grub menu?  Thanks.

Found Antergos Linux on /dev/sdb1

Please note, these forums usually frown upon asking support for Arch derivatives...

I believe you should reinstall grub. You're regenerating the config, but you didn't install it onto your new disk. Look up GRUB in the wiki.

The Antergos disk is the old disk that I keep around for backup. The new installation is pure Arch Linux. And perhaps I should have said that the new disk is the Windows disk, not the Arch Linux disk. I didn't make any changes to the Arch Linux disk. So the grub installation on the Arch Linux disk should be fine.

Here's the results of df:

Are you maybe booting from the root partition (umount /boot and see whether there're still files in /boot - that's usually a bad sign)

Sorry for the messy formatting - I've fixed it. When I

umount /boot

then

ls -al /boot

I find that /boot is empty.

1. What are "echo $prefix; echo $root" before you set the values?
2. Also post the generated grub.cfg
