Occasionally, my ASRock motherboard (H97M-ITX/ac) freezes at the logo screen (before even a UEFI post screen). After powering down (by button) and restarting, it boots properly. It does not happen often, but when it does, it seems to only happen when "long services" like these two had been scheduled:
$ systemd-analyze blame
14.041s systemd-journal-flush.service
11.364s man-db.service
These two services processed right after the last incident.
I can't prove the failed boot was caused by those services, but it is quite a coincidence. My theory is "fast boot" enabled (REFInd is the bootloader) might be the cause. I will disable fast boot and see if that fixes the issue. Will report back once these services run again.
