Issues with Arch installation [SOLVED]

Hi, I'm trying to dual boot arch on my ryzen T14 gen 2 thinkpad but I'm having issues just loading arch the OS with UEFI.

I've been flashing arch with balenaetcher on my mac onto a usb stick (I've tried both usb version 2.0 and 3.1, which has been an issue on older computers of mine), but when I plug it into my laptop Windows 10 doesn't recognize it when using their "advanced startup", and although I can see it in the lenovo boot menu screen, clicking on it just pauses for a second or two and then dumps me back in the boot screen.

I turned off secure boot and have an empty partitian open but I can't seem to get it to work. I can run Ubuntu off a usb stick using this method fine.

I realize this is a simple question but I've been struggling with it for hours and would appriciate any help I can get, thanks.

*In the windows advanced startup it's not showing the usb as expected, although I've tried them all and none of them work. USB HDD is what I'd expect it is although everything just dumps me back to windows

Please don't embed huge images like that directly: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Genera … s_and_code

Afaik lenovos should have an Option for "Windows" and "Other Operating Systems" mode somewhere in the menu, try toggling that.

Re: Issues with Arch installation [SOLVED]

The arch iso does not support secure boot, so you may have to disable that.

Re: Issues with Arch installation [SOLVED]

Sorry about the images. Also it turns out although I had disabled secure boot in the Windows settings, there was another secure boot flag I had to flip in the lenovo boot menu. Once I got that it started up

Thanks
