Last night I updated my system for the first time in a few weeks. Suddenly Vulkan no longer works:
➜ vkcube
vkEnumeratePhysicalDevices reported zero accessible devices.
Do you have a compatible Vulkan installable client driver (ICD) installed?
Please look at the Getting Started guide for additional information.
All the necessary packages are still installed:
➜ pacman -Q | egrep "^(lib32-)?(linux|mesa|vulkan)"
lib32-mesa 21.2.1-1
lib32-vulkan-icd-loader 1.2.184-1
lib32-vulkan-radeon 21.2.1-1
linux 5.13.12.arch1-1
linux-api-headers 5.12.3-1
linux-firmware 20210818.c46b8c3-1
linux-headers 5.13.12.arch1-1
mesa 21.2.1-1
mesa-demos 8.4.0-4
mesa-vdpau 21.2.1-1
vulkan-headers 1:1.2.187-1
vulkan-icd-loader 1.2.187-1
vulkan-radeon 21.2.1-1
vulkan-tools 1.2.184-1I have double checked my ICD files exist:
➜ export VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/radeon_icd.i686.json:/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/radeon_icd.x86_64.json➜ ls -1 /usr/share/vulkan/icd.d
amd_icd32.json
amd_icd64.json
radeon_icd.i686.json
radeon_icd.x86_64.jsonIf I force usage of amdvlk instead, everything works:
export VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/amd_icd64.json:/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/amd_icd32.jsonBut I get pretty terrible framerates compared to RADV.
Are there any recent known bugs in Mesa that I may have run into? Otherwise, how do I start debugging this?
(I have of course rebooted my PC since updating)

amdvlk added a new loader implementation that breaks ICD based loading for other drivers, see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Vulkan … kan_driver for what you can do to reenable that properly.

Ah, awesome! Thanks!

Consider marking this as [SOLVED] if that helped the issue you might have to shorten the title as a whole though.
