xps 9710 - sound broken and behavior little flaky

Currently the sound is broken on the new xps 9710. It seems like there is a fix out already: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1935850

Is this being released to arch as well soon? Is there maybe already a new kernel available for testing?

5.14 was released a couple of days ago, I believe it has the fix.

Arch will have it packaged when the devs get round to it.

alright good to know, my docking setup has fortunately an external sound card so I am fine for the coming days without the internals since I am not travelling

will probably fixed in the upcoming kernel, I am running the patch on a custom compiled kernel and got it running after a few more issues (there is some thing wrong with rt715 settings apparently). see https://github.com/thesofproject/linux/issues/3057
