Hey there,
I just installed a new Arch setup running Window Maker.
I was having some issues with screen tearing, running picom had fixed this for me before, so I went ahead and installed picom.
As a plus, I found the shadows looked quite nice in Window Maker.
However, it seemed to bring up two problems.
Firstly, when I set my background with wmsetbg -t the image no longer tiles. I just get the single image in the top left of the screen and the rest is black space.
I'd love to get the tiling back.
Currently my work around is to set the background with feh after booting, tiling works then.. but it won't persist across boots, even if feh called to reset the background in my .xinitrc (I assume this is because wmaker is called after feh, and wmaker seems to only remember the background settings from wmsetbg).
The next problem is turning off those shadows on the dock, but haven't been able to have any luck simply defining "dock" under shadow exclude.
This has worked for me on other computers, so I'm assuming picom isn't seeing the wmdock as a dock?
Here's the relevant part of my picom.conf
# Shadow
shadow = true;
shadow-radius = 7;
shadow-opacity = 0.6;
shadow-offset-x = 3;
shadow-offset-y = 3;
shadow-exclude = [
"window_type = 'dock'"
];
Any help would be very much appreciated!
