Power and brightness buttons don't work until resume from sleep

Hello,

For a while I have this issue where the power and brightness buttons don't work until I resume my laptop from sleep at least once.
This issue happens on KDE Plasma but also on Gnome.

Laptop: Dell XPS 15 9560 (i7-7700HQ, 16GB RAM, GTX 1050)

I tried creating an Xorg config with:

Xorg :2 -configure

But this causes another issue instead of hopefully fixing the first one. In KDE, when I press the meta key, the application menu doesn't open, unless I delete the xorg.conf file.
The odd thing is, generating an xorg.conf file worked for me on Manjaro, but eventually the problem came back and remains unsolved since I switched to Arch.

I tried checking with evtest if the buttons generate an output, and they only do after resuming from sleep.
Furthermore I tried setting the acpi_osi= flag on boot, which also didn't help.

Note: the X11 session runs on the Intel GPU.

Any idea how I can fix this?

I can't just be the only one with this problem, right?
There are a lot more people with the same XPS15 running Arch or even Manjaro.
