Keyboard lag or flickering in Minecraft

When I play the Java version of Minecraft, it looks like the client sees lagging or flickering keystrokes. It is seen especially when I try to sprint, as I need to keep the W key down.

It is as if the system registers a "key up" event even though I'm not releasing the key.

What would you suggest me to do in order to resolve this issue?

The built-in keyboard in the laptop works, so the issue seems to be with my external keyboard. It's a Ducky Shine 4.
