[SOLVED] Thunar's "Transfer Files in Parallel" dropdown grayed out
I'm using Xfce 4.16 with Thunar 4.16.10.
Somewhere between the introduction of this option and version 4.16.10, it somehow got greyed out in Thunar's settings. I tried downgrading to version 4.16.9, but this did not seem to 'reintroduce' the option, leading me to believe it's either a) started happening earlier than 4.16.9; or b) something on my end seems to be wrong.
What I tried:
- Thinking it may have been due to using libxfce4ui-nocsd (v4.16.0-1, from the AUR) - even though I could change the option just fine with that installed before - I installed the 'standard' libxfce4ui (v4.16.1-1). This did not make a difference, as the option remains yet grayed out.
- Resetting my entire Xfce configuration (by deleting ~/.config/{xfce,Thunar}) and starting from scratch. This also did nothing to 're-enable' this option.
Thunar is started daemonized by xfce4-session, and if I run it from a terminal afterwards it doesn't throw up any errors (or any output whatsoever). Killing the daemon and re-running it from the terminal also shows no output. There are no entries regarding Thunar in the system journal either.
I can change this setting through the Xfce4 Settings Editor (the one used to directly manipulate xfconf), but I'd like to be able to do so from the GUI as well. This does show however that the option does actually take effect in the background, but only seems to not be changeable from the interface.
Does anyone else using Thunar experience this as well (and if applicable, could fix or work around it)? I have not found any applicable bug reports or issues in Thunar's GitLab repository, and searching on these forums or the Xfce forums for this issue yielded no applicable results either.

Did you notice the popup info that shows up when you hover over the left text?

Wow, that's some outstandingly bad UX.
This sums it up pretty well, indeed.
It would've been nice if they had added a clearer indication that it was temporarily disabled, or hidden the darned thing altogether.
Thanks a lot for the hint Maniaxx. I guess we'll have to wait until 4.18 is released to get proper parallel transfer implemented then. At least I hope someone who didn't see it either will see this in their $SEARCH_ENGINE's results.
