[SOLVED] Frame skipping on X11 and Nvidia

Hi all, I'm currently struggling with yet another classic Nvidia graphics problem: frameskipping and general lagginess.

On both Gnome X11 and Plasma X11, I'm getting a 30fps experience on my 60fps displays. All applications claim to be running at 60fps, but the experience is decidedly *not* 60fps.
Common frame skipping tests such as https://www.testufo.com/frameskipping indicate that I'm skipping every other frame.

NOTE: I'm running a dual-4K setup, but the same issue applies when only using one display. CPU usage is very low at all times.

Re: [SOLVED] Frame skipping on X11 and Nvidia

Please use [ code ] not [ quote ] for outputs

Forcing full composition pipeline while also running a normal standalone compositor is likely to introduce stuff like this. What's the behaviour with a vanilla config without the composition pipeline and/or triple buffering enabled?

Re: [SOLVED] Frame skipping on X11 and Nvidia

That fixed the issue. Thanks!

I'm not sure why I had that enabled in the first place... I think I was following https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA … en_tearing to fix an issue that no longer applied.
