Arch Reboot Takes Forever

Very much a new user, so the solution could be something very simple like a command to kill all tasks.

When I choose to reboot my system, all the windows close and the screen goes black, but before I see my BIOS screen, I get a message that hangs on for about 2 minutes. During which of course, nothing happens other than the cursor blinking.

Starting version 249.4-1-arch
/dev/sdb2: clean, 398059/15228928 files, 132970404/60908585 blocks

What seems extra peculiar about this to me is that when I shut down the system, it happens almost instantly. The message reads for less than 5 seconds before the screen goes black and my computer shuts off. Logging out also happens instantly as well. This problem is only when I try to reboot the system.

Any help would be very appreciated because I cannot seem to find anybody else in previous forums with a similar problem.

And of course in between posting this question and responding, the problem has finally stopped itself. I haven't changed anything, so is there something I can do to still make sure it doesn't happen?

I would remove "quiet" kernel parameter from your bootloader, and/or adjust the log level. If it hangs again, you'll see exactly what it's hanging at.

Thinking fsck was triggered but need more data.  In the future, look at the output of:

systemd-analyze critical-chain or systemd-analyze blame
