I have just upgraded my system (complete success ) and decided to install lilypond from the AUR. I get the following error:
[alan@avocet lilypond]$ lilypond test.ly
lilypond: error while loading shared libraries: libguile.so.12: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Any ideas?
Thanks.

lilypond needs to be rebuilt for the current guile. Use the PKGBUILD from ABS to rebuild it.
It's also out-of-date so you might try to update it too. (change the pkgver and md5sums).
I'll try to update the package in community but it could take a while.

I am reading the wiki to learn how to modify the package. So far I have run abs and now have a file structure in /var/abs. I managed to find the abs.conf file and update it to allow the community stuff to be aded to the file tree. However, I cannot find the lilypond PKGBUILD Using pacman I get:
[root@avocet alan]# pacman -Qip lilypond
load_pkg: missing package info file in lilypond
error: lilypond is not a package
I used pacman to do the initial install. And this shows that the package is installed:
[root@avocet alan]# pacman -Qi lilypond

Many thanks Snowman for both doing the update and also persuading me to take a look at ABS. I have been using Arch for nearly a year and it is about time I started to explore ABS.

That's right sash I used lilypond several years ago when it was about version 1.7, that was in the days of Debian Potato. I had a specific box (an old pentium 120) that I used for music stuff. I really enjoyed using lilypond. I now have a few projects that will make good use of lilypond and and I am quite excited to see hows things have developed over the past 3 years.
