Hi !!
I installed davinci resolved and have been enduring lots of problems among which "No Audio Preview" Turns out to be the most intriguing one
I can make sure that I try to went through the possible setting to making audio working in davinci resolve but still being just a beginner I was unsuccessful in resolving the issues I encountered
Here are the log file for the messages I see when I open up the davinci resolve.
I also have created a sound.conf file as suggested in DaVinci Resolve Installation Guide on Arch
$ nano /etc/asound.conf
pcm.!default pulse
ctl.!default pulse
I suggest you to take a look into this pastebin
I saw a bunch of error while I was installing Davinci Resolve through AUR (yay ofcourse)
May be this has something to do with my all those issues..
And yes I also tried manual installation and uninstalled and installed Davinci resolve more than 10 times to see if problem would be fixed
I also checked the DaVinci resolve checker that contained python script to see if there were some issues....
Althought It didn't say if my lapotop was good to go for DR but I have necessary nvidia-drivers and all the dependencies manually installed
Using locale en_US
DaVinci Resolve checker 2.4.1
Installed DaVinci Resolve package: davinci-resolve 17.4-1
Chassis type: laptop
Installed OpenCL drivers: opencl-nvidia
Presented GPUs:
TU116M [GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Mobile] (kernel driver in use: nvidia)
Renoir (kernel driver in use: amdgpu)
OpenGL vendor string: NVIDIA CorporationYou have AMD and NVIDIA GPUs. I am confused. Which one do you intend to use?
I also have imported mov file format in davinci resolved using
ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -c:v dnxhd -profile:v dnxhr_hq -pix_fmt yuv422p -c:a pcm_s16le -f mov output.mov
If you feel like I am missing some info I would be happy to report you
I know Kdenlive exists and I am using it as well but I am starving for learning some nodes and awesome features that davinci resolve delivers....
Hope thats not a issue
Have a great day

The log is full of unknown pcm pulse messages. Do you even use pulseaudio? You'll want alsa-plugins in that case and probably you should remove your asound.conf and install pulseaudio-alsa instead.

Okay !!
Wait
can you please explain why my audio could not be heard even if I had pulseaudio?
I mean now after installing pluseaudio-alsa it is working but It is also accessing microphone at the same time
which I don't know why is it doing?
Do you know?
Have a great day !!

Davinci Resolve only uses ALSA for output and you didn't have alsa-plugins installed which would include the alsa -> pulse compatibility layer. I'm assuming davinci accesses the microphone at the same time to provide some of it's features.
