So I had XGL working really really well a couple months ago, and then an upgrade changed all that...and I was really enjoying XGL so I'd like to get it working again. I recently just tried to reinstall it and I have the same problem as before.
It seems to be starting up just fine, and all the effects work, but unfortunately, things start to go white after awhile.
For instance, the Gnome menubar, on first click will appear normal, but then as I move the mouse over menu items, they all go blank, aka turn to white. If I open up a program, like firefox, it will look fine, but refresh the page, or move the window around, and it goes all blank as well. Eventually the background and menubars blank out as well, and its completely unusable. If I reopen something, initially it will look fine, but eventually turns to white.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? I've had trouble searching a problem cause I'm not sure how to describe it!

when i played with beryl last month i had the same issues, turned out it was from the different packages being different ages/versions. which i cured by building beryl-everything from aur. ymmv

Okay, well when I have time I'll try out beryl...I was hoping it was just a configuration issue as XGL seems to be operating properly as far as effects are going, and it doesn't crash. Just the whiteness!

Its really strange, everything is fine at first, and then the bottom and top menu bars go white, then the back ground, and eventually windows I open.

I can confirm this problem is now gone with the newest XGL update in Danimoth's repo
