No video output after hdmi reconnect

Hi,

I have a Gigabyte BLCE-4105-rev-10 and started the ArchLinux Install media via USB-Stick.
When I disconnect the HDMI cable and reconnect it, the screen just stays gray. I enabled ssh and looked at the dmesg during the reconnect, but there was nothing.
Any ideas on how I can debug/fix this?

I forgot to mention: I dont think this is a hardware issue, since it works on memtest.
