Strange issue but I am having issues where when I type in my terminals or even this textarea in this forum the letters as I type them, the cursor keeps jumping back and forth erasing/hiding/obscuring the last few letters before jumping back to where the cursor should be revealing the letters again. Not sure what's created this issue but the last thing I did was installed sddm. I've disabled my xscreensaver and the only thing that seems to solve it is to reboot. Not sure where to look for culprits.

UPDATE: Seems to be related to running VLC. Anytime I am running VLC watching a movie it causes this issue. Another test running mplayer, not getting the same results. Looks like it's isolated somehow to just vlc. Tried multiple preference changes in VLC but the cursor continues to jump around on any text input from web browser forms to terminals to gedit. I've also tested when playing and not playing a video. Looks like anytime an instance of vlc is open and a video is loaded this problem arises. If no video is loaded or the video hasn't been run the issue isn't present. Once you start playing the video, the issue arises. If you pause the video, the issue is still present. If you cancel the video (close the video but leave the instance of VLC open) the issue goes away.
