File sharing arch xp

Hi

Me and my wife are sharing an adsl connection thru a router. She is on an XP box and I am running arch.

What are the alternatives to share files without going out on the net(msn=slow).

This is what I have concidered

ftp
ssh
samba

---
So what is "best practice", what is easiest?

pointers to some good tutorials etc would be nice

Re: File sharing arch xp

I recommend you Samba.. It's really great for sharing things with XP's.. I'm using it for a huge network and it's beyond my expectations..

Re: File sharing arch xp

I used this wiki to setup a quick samba share between my Arch and XP machines. It was quite painless, even for a newcomer like me.

Re: File sharing arch xp

I installed Samba, selected all the default settings, and was seamlessly connected to the XP box in my house. The whole process only took a few minutes.

I tried samba.
It works nicely to log in from the XP box and transfer files.
And It took 2 min to set up smile

Very nice
