[solved] File Dialog in every chrome-based browser extremly slow

I searched and searched, tried different versions of chromium, tried edge and brave.

When I try to attach a file to an email (I tried the webfrontend of yahoo and microsoft), the file dialog is extremely slow. Opening a new sub-directory or moving one level above takes about five seconds. So attaching files to an email becomes a very annoying process.

Does anyone have an idea where to look?

Edit:
- No speed issues with krusader or thunar
- switching from xfce4 to kde plasma on X11 doesn't change the issue

Right click the file dialog and disable the various display options. Does anything make if faster™?

I was having the same issue with opera and seems that version 81.0.4196+ fixed the problem. Now open file dialogs are faster.

Re: [solved] File Dialog in every chrome-based browser extremly slow

Ups, didn't I just install opera? Today, I found a new version, 81.0.4196.54.

And here the file dialog runs in known speed again. And chromium seems to do the job again too (96.0.4664.45-1).

So just a temporary bug?
