volume not saved in gnome

i've got this issue for weeks

since i got sound working, mixer properties aren't saved after reboot. quite annoying since gain is set to 0 and each time i boot have to level it up

i tried using

alsactl store

but nothing get saved either.

any clue ?

Do you have DAEMONS=(... alsa ...) in rc.conf?
