Foreground color not selecting properly for symbolic tray icons in dwm

Hi folks,

I'm running dwm with the systray patch, and am not able to get cbatticon to select the proper foreground color for the symbolic icon set.

According to GNOME documentation:

"Symbolic icons are usually low color or monochrome and intended to match the foreground font color."

Which to me means that applets using the system tray should be able to read the foreground font color from attributes and set this color for symbolic icons.

Although I'm not exactly sure that the systray patch for dwm sets the foreground font color for the tray area explicitly, dwm itself does have settings for bg/fg colors, and those are at least close to white in the default (and in mine) configurations.

From this I am expecting that cbatticon, which in my setup uses the symbolic icon set, to set the foreground of the various battery status icons to something light.

Instead, I get this kind of thing:

Or, in text, black icons on a dark gray background.

I'm trying to figure out what needs to be changed in dwm or the systray patch or cbatticon to get the icons to inherit the proper background color.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
