Gnome app launcherglitches after a fresh install

After a fresh install my gnome app launcher was behaving normally utill I opened it and it showed a cropped version of my background image covering half the app icons. When I start typing into the search bar, it disappears, but reappears as I exit the search. I can still click on the apps underneath the picture, but I cant see them. Restarting does nothing. Does anyone have any ideas?

Xorg or Wayland? If xorg and xf86-video-intel remove xf86-video-intel. In general more information about your general stack would be nice.
