Nautilus and the GTK file picker sometimes take a few seconds (2-6s) for their first-since-boot startup. Subsequent startups are fine and as fast as they should be on an SSD system.
Nautilus and file picker have slow startups separately as well, opening one first doesn't make the other fast. I thought maybe it would have something to do with "os caching" of gtk libraries(?)
I don't have any extensions for nautilus installed when looking at `pacman -Qs nautilus`
After running nemo, another gtk-based file manager for a couple of days and I haven't seen the same slowness.
I haven't been able to find a reliable way to cause it to happen. On some boots nautilus and the file picker start up fine. I've tried unplugging my slow usb-connected external HDDs then restarting and saw no difference; it is sometimes slow, sometimes fast. Looking in `journalctl -ef` when it happens shows nothing relevant.
Does anyone have an idea to fix this, make it reliably replicatable or find/measure more information?
