Graphical session crash

Please help!

When I move the mouse (including the touchpad) after enabling the GUI for a period of time, the GUI will crash

I used an Intel graphics card(my pc is yoga 14s) , looked it up in the manual and submitted the kernel parameters from  here , which unfortunately didn't work

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="i8042.dumbkbd i915.enable_psr=0 intel_idle.max_cstate=1 i915.enable_dc=0 ahci.mobile_lpm_policy=1"

In addition, I have no problem turning graphics on again after it crash after i pkill it.

it was frustrating that EVERY time I booted up I had to log in to the graphics, wait for it to crash and then kill it to start my day, because I wasn't sure when it would crash

This is log from xorg

Re: Graphical session crash

This is log from xorg

No, is not. Please post the actual, complete log - ideally w/ a backtrace from the crash at its tail. https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General
Symptoms sound like https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=271450 … except now it would also include the modesetting driver. So please post the xorg log.

Re: Graphical session crash

And how did you generate that "log"?  That's a hypothetical question, as we don't really care exactly which invocation of "grep" you used to get that filtered output.  Post the actual log.

I'm very sorry, I am a novice and don't know the rules here.

Does the actual log (I am not logged in as root) means ~/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.0.log.old ?

Re: Graphical session crash

That is a complete log, but as suggested by the file name, it is "old".  That is a log from a successful Xorg run.

In post #3 you posted a filtered xorg log.  Where did you get that content from?

Re: Graphical session crash

Also

the log says , this is a kernel bug

No, doesn't.

[   238.501] (==) Log file: "/home/happi0/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.0.log", Time: Sat Dec  4 14:33:24 2021

The log in #6 is from an X11 server that ran succesfully for ~2½ hours and was likely started by startx/xinit and unlike the previous logs is running on the xf86-video-intel driver, not modesetting. It's also running on a newer kernel.

If the X11 server still "crashes", provide the complete log that exists in the immediate aftermath. If you started a new server, it's gonna be the ".old" log, otherwise just Xorg.0.log

Re: Graphical session crash

Thanks for your reply

I seem to have found a fix, but I haven't found the cause of the problem.
I mentioned this problem before, and the problem is that in wm (i3DM, DWM) there are two mice, but the GUI still works, and in KDE it crashes
I suspect it is because of my VNC automatic startup, I don't know if it is, but after I disable, this problem did not appear again

BTW, this is the same question I mentioned last time, it's really weird, you can check out my previous screenshot

the GUI will crash

in KDE it crashes

What does that actually mean to you? What are the perceived symptoms?
