30% volume is still almost silent. Shifted volume range?

My volume range seems to be shifted to the silent side. 30% volume is inaudible, 100% is somewhat medium. Is there a way to shift this range?

-  I'm using ALSA and PulseAudio
-  I have custom options in /etc/modprobe.d/ -  options snd-hda-intel model=alc256-asus,headset-mic,auto
-  pactl is returning the same numeric value as seen in system applet
-  in alsamixer Master / Headphone / Speaker are 100%
- card: sof-hda-dsp
- chip: Realtek ALC256

pactl list sinks

Having the same issue. 32% on pulse audio is actually 0 (no audio) on my output.
