Monitor problems after screen lock

After coming out of suspend/hibernation, I sometimes have to switch to a virtual console and back to the graphical lock screen before it'll show anything. And then there are times when even that doesn't work, and the monitor just keeps saying "No signal" after turning the monitor back on and while in what is supposed to be a lock screen. This happened again. The virtual consoles worked, so I killall'ed Xorg, and was able to log in to a new graphical session.

Can people maybe help me figure out what's going on?
