Dell XPS 9310 Webcam really dark

Hello. I was wondering if there was anything I could do about making the video captured from my webcam brighter. It's waaay too dark now.

This is some of the system info I could pull up.

# lshw | less
...
usb:1
   description: Video
   product: Integrated_Webcam_HD
   vendor: Integrated_Webcam_HD
   physical id: 6
   bus info: usb@3:6
   version: 4.21
   serial: 200901010001
   capabilities: usb-2.01
   configuration: driver=uvcvideo maxpower=500mA speed=480Mbit/s
...

# dmesg | grep -i "webcam"
[ 1.590644] usb 3-6: Product: Integrated_Webcam_HD
[ 1.590646] usb 3-6: Manufacturer: Integrated_Webcam_HD
[ 6.633474] usb 3-6: Found UVC 1.10 device Integrated_Webcam_HD (0bda:5517)

[ 6.636198] usb 3-6: Found UVC 1.50 device Integrated_Webcam_HD (0bda:5517)
[ 6.636720] input: Integrated_Webcam_HD: Integrate as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb3/3-6/3-6:1.2/input/input8

$ v4l2-ctl --list-devices
Video Capture 3 (usb-0000:00:14.0-6):
        /dev/video0
        /dev/video1
        /dev/video2
        /dev/video3
        /dev/media0
        /dev/media1

I know I'm not using the IR camera because when I turn that on I see a gray image and red lights around my webcam start blinking.

I tried installing https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/v4l2ucp/ to adjust the image, but all the tweaks I tried just made the image worse.

Do I have buggy hardware? Is the hardware not well supported?
