Dear all,
I'm looking for help and guidance on how to patch an ArchLinux kernel in order to enable Reiser4 file system support. I have never patched a kernel before. I'm following the Reiser4 installation guide on the ArchLinux wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Reiser4. So far, I have compiled and installed `libaal` and `reiser4progs`. I have downloaded and extracted the reiser4-for-linux-5.x patch for the Linux kernel from https://sourceforge.net/projects/reiser4/files/. Then I tried following the steps of the ArchLinux article on kernel live patching https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Kernel_live_patching. I installed kpatch, but I'm unable to issue the `kpatch-build` command. It returns an error says: unsupported system. Any help, guidance and links to the relevant information would be appreciated. Thank you and have a good day ahead!

Afaik none of the standard kernels have live patching support, so you'll need to build the entire kernel with the patch applied, see: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Kernel … ild_System and apply the patch somewhere in the prepare function.

Good news that there is a wiki article about it! That's why I love Arch. Thank you very much for the pointer. I will report back on my progress in the evening.
