Hi everyone,
I've been using Arch for around 5 years as primary OS on my previous gaming laptop and utilised bumblee and worked fine.
New laptop and various issues.
Out of the box:
All works fine apart from keyboard lights and does not utilise the rtx 3070 gpu.
My setup is:
Asus rog g513qr, amd ryzen on-board gpu, rtx 3070, 64gb ram, 2 * 1tb nvme, dual display LG 27inch monitors, one connected via hdmi, one by USB C.
Issue I am having.
Trying to enable hybrid/nvidia only mode using different methods as follows:
Bumblebee: deprecated.
Nvidia primus run:
Crashes all time, brings back to login window, disables my WiFi card, tried utilising the sink method etc but kills WiFi card.
Optimus:
Disables WiFi card, USB c monitor not detected.
Asusctl with the gft utility:
Kills WiFi even with custom kernel and crashes to login screen, disables USB c monitor.
Has anyone got this model laptop and succesffuly used a hybrid method or nvidia only method which does not kill the WiFi and supports dual display via 1 * hdmi and 1 * USB C?
I can only seem to have my dual display set up working using the on board gpu which is a waste of the rtx 3070.
Many thanks
** EDIT
I have nvidia as my main GPU as the DP is the only port connected to the NVIDIA card and the other ports are connected to the AMDGPU.
Works fine as NVIDIA with render offload.
