Since about a month (probably the last kernel/wayland upgrade) video acceleration for gstreamer has stopped working.
This results on gnome that the video player (totem) doesn't work any more.
I can play videos using vlc but anything with gstreamer backend is broken.
The problem seems that gstreamer tries to use vdpau or vaapi video acceleration from nouveau and that isn't working any more. This only happens in wayland, Xorg gnome session are still capable of playing video.

update: managed to get gst-play working to play videos.
totem still crashes as soon as it tries to play any video. after that it goes into a segfault loop, cant start until I delete all totem settings ~/.config/totem
other gstreamer based players also crash consistently with playing a video. seems to be an issue with gstreamer to player video forwarding under wayland
