Firefox applications

Hi all,

I noticed a difference between Firefox on my work computer, and Firefox on my personal computer. In short, telephone numbers on the work machine is clickable and I can configure the opening application for the content type "tel" to my linking.

Now, on my personal computer, I don't have this content type. And I can't seem to figure out how to get it in there (I'd love links to just be opened by Skype)

I'm sure this has to do with mime types, and I tried adding skype as the default handler for tel links with

xdg-mime default skype.desktop x-scheme-handler/tel

but it doesn't seem to pick up in the Firefox application section, so before i start an investigation in how Firefox pick these up on Linux, I thought I'd be lazy and check with you good people if anybody knows from the top of their head?
