nvidia optimus laptop set max temp for gpu

i want to use the cuda cores for this folding@home thing, yet my laptop will overheat with the gpu running at full crank >85 degrees i want to set its max speed at 75 C  yet what i found was

 nvidia-smi -gtt 

however my gpu is not compatible it seems 1050Ti in a laptop

is there another way to set the max temp on a dedi nvidia gpu?
