Virtual Box sluggish

I just did a fresh install for the first time.
Ive been using Endevour OS before so i wanted to try Vanilla and its all fine and fully installed.

My issue comes with the graphics being so sluggish even in 128mb virtualbox graphics, i gave it 6gb/16gb and 4 cores. I use XFCE as DE.
When i move the terminal and firefox its super laggy. I tried searching the forums but the results i got are like from 2013/2015 so i figured ill ask here.

In one post, someone said manually changing the video memory (i changed it to 256mb) allocated can cause the issue. But even going back to the 128mb, i get some what of an improvement but its still laggy?

am i missing a driver? i mean i suspect that it could be something to do with the graphics drivers.

PS: i dont have any lag issues with EOS.

Did you install and configure the guest additions?

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan
