Xmobar completely invisible upon launch

When I restart XMonad, Xmobar does appear to launch, as evident by the margin at the top of my screen. However, Xmobar is completely transparent or invisible. Switching workspaces doesn't make Xmobar visible either. I have looked online to try to find a solution, but nothing so far has worked.

Here is my XMonad config file:

Edit: Xmobar just started appearing, though its not displaying anything. Currently it is only displaying what was last on top of it.

You could launch Xorg with a minimal .xinitrc containing just your terminal emulator, e.g. alacritty& without any composition or window manager.

Then execute startx and from the terminal window start xmobar and see what it does.
