[SOLVED]dmesg output not expected

Hi, I am follow the instruction to config the network: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Networ … n/Wireless
It asks me to check kernel messages for firmware being loaded using the command

dmesg | grep firmware

or

dmesg | grep iwlwifi

(I do use iwlwifi)
However I get no output from both this two command, and then I check the out put of dmesg:

Re: [SOLVED]dmesg output not expected

dmesg needs to be run as root (or sudo) to see everything .

Please run

journalctl -b |& curl -F 'f:1=<-' ix.io

and post the link it outputs (may take some time)

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Yes, I did run using sudo.
and for the command

journalctl -b |& curl -F 'f:1=<-' ix.io

it outputs nothing (no matter I use sudo or not). TAT

Re: [SOLVED]dmesg output not expected

If there's too much™ junk in the journal you might exceed the quota.

sudo journalctl -b > /tmp/journal.txt

and upload that file somewhere.

Yes, I notice the file is 36M
how do I upload this or is there any way around to fix my origin problem?

Re: [SOLVED]dmesg output not expected

[ 4410.531619] pcieport 0000:00:06.0: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Physical Layer, (Receiver ID)

indicates a wonky signal on the PCI bus.
You can suppress it by passing "pci=noaer" to the kernel commandline and should check "lspci" for what that device is.
It's not fatal, though (all posted errors are "corrected", what means the bus drives to fast)

About the firmware, frst and foremost make sure to install https://archlinux.org/packages/core/any/linux-firmware/ and specify your wifi chip.

I have checked, linux firmware above is installed, and the pcie 0000:00:06.0 is

00:06.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Device 4c09 (rev 01)
        Kernel driver in use: pcieport

Re: [SOLVED]dmesg output not expected

It's then something behind that bridge.
You've also not explained what your wifi chip is (or your actual problem, aside from trying to grep dmesg for "something")

This is my wifi info according to lspci

05:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wi-Fi 6 AX210/AX211/AX411 160MHz (rev 1a)
        Subsystem: Intel Corporation Wi-Fi 6 AX210 160MHz
        Kernel driver in use: iwlwifi
        Kernel modules: iwlwifi

And after I add pci=noaer and reboot, the dmesg | grep iwlwifi command gives the message

[ 1.594248] iwlwifi 0000:05:00.0: loaded firmware version 67.8f59b80b.0 ty-a0-gf-a0-67.ucode op_mode iwlmvm

which is just the same message as it says on https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Networ … n/Wireless
However it also produce other message, here are full message:

Re: [SOLVED]dmesg output not expected

No, this is fine.
The previous grep failed because dmesg is a ringbuffer and overflew by the pci errors (which you still might want to address in a different threwad)

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
