[Solved] Weird issue with KDE

Hello everyone,

I've ran into an issue which I'm not sure how to further troubleshoot.

I'm using KDE, whenever I open konsole via keybind or kRunner some icons(?) are missing as shown here konsole no icons . But If I start another instance of konsole via the terminal it works konsole with icons .

I've been trying to figure out what may be causing this but I ran into a wall.

I'm using the nerd fonts as specified in https://github.com/Peltoche/lsd. I tried reinstalling the fonts and changing the fonts but the issue remains. I also tried another terminal emulator(Alacritty) and the same behavior is observed with it as well, which leads me to believe it's something to do with KDE itself.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Please only post thumbnails or links to images.

What's the environment of the first konsole process?

tr '\0' '\n' < /proc/$(pidof konsole)/environ
printenv
locale
locale -a

I'm assuming some incorrect locale or so that doesn't use UTF-8 which gets "fixed" by the bash environment, maybe check whether .config/plasma-localerc configures something weird here.
