gnome-power-manager and suspend monitor broken? [SOLVED]

I've set up arch on two computers i've got, and on neither dpms off is set.
xset q, shows dpms standby and suspend is all 0 (zero, that is, not set)
I have to disable gnome-power-manager in sessions, and do it manually with the line "xset dpms 0 0 240". So can i safely assume gnome-power-manager is broken ATM?

I guess i'll have to answer this one myself smile
To suspend the monitor, you _need_ gnome-screensaver installed...
'xset q' still shows suspend/standby/hibernate as 0 0 0 though.
