External monitor stutters when laptop lid is closed.

Hello,

I was setting up my monitor with my laptop, and I just noticed that it seems to stutter when the lid is closed,
what I found so far is that my logs indicate that the monitor keep re connecting and disconnecting really quickly every couple seconds (see logs below).

Did anyone else experience this?

Hardware:
Zephyrus M15 - RTX 2070 Max-q
Huawei MateView GT 34"

Software:
- NVIDIA proprietary driver (470, but tried higher versions, same results)
- Optimus Manager
- Cinnamon DE

What I tried:
- Switching cables, both HDMI and USB-C cables.
- Switching Kernel versions.
- Trying switching configurations with Optimus manager.

What I know:
- Monitor seems to be disconnecting and reconnecting based on the XORG logs.
- Occurs on other distros like mint.
- Looks like rhythmic dips in GPU utilization in nvtop, seems like DE repaints. (I think this is the side effect of monitor disconnecting.)
