Flickering screen with Intel Xe

Hi there,

I spent hours and hours researching the web for a solution to my problem. I have a TUXEDO InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen6 with an Intel Xe iGPU. The srceen flickers/blinks sometimes so fast that working with the laptop is almost impossible.

What I've already tried

• Setting the kernel parameter

  i915.enable_psr=0

• Downgrading to the LTS kernel

• Downgrading to a 5.10 kernel

The problem does not occur if

• External monitors are attached to the laptop

• Booting Ubuntu 20.04.02 (but it happens with Ubuntu 20.04.03)

• Using TUXEDO_OS

Any ideas what the problem could be and how to solve it?

It looks like this is hardware related. The laptop was returned and is tested by the manufacturer. It turns out, that the same behavior exists with the OS of the manufacturer (TUXEDO_OS). Since the flickering does not happen all the time, it was a bit misleading. After a while I was able to reproduce the described issue with TUXEDO_OS.
