New NVIDIA update. Cannot boot into desktop environment.

Just performed 'sudo pacman -Syu' and rebooted my system. 60 packages updated, including linux, linux-lts and nvidia

I cannot 'startx' into my desktop environment now.

'systemctl status nvidia-persistenced.service' says

"Failed to start NVIDIA Persistenced Daemon'

I have never had this error before and this just happened after updating my system. Has anyone else just updated and had this same problem?

Anyone got any ideas to fix this?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Do you have an Xorg log to share? And journalctl from last boot? Also, are you in the lts of non-lts version?

Which model of GPU do you have?

I'm back in guys. I uninstalled linux-lts and I could get into my desktop environment. Is it recommended to use linux over linux-lts?

FYI my GPU is a Geforce 1660 Super.

You can use the LTS kernel if you want to, you just need to have the nvidia-lts package installed.

Arch Linux
