PnP sound card - seen by lsusb - but not by gnome sound settings

I have external sound card - into Librem 13
lsusb  sees the card - but neither the gnome sound settings nor the PulseAudion Volume Contro list this card as either input or output device.
Any suggestinons??

lsusb sees anything that has an usb port and is no indication of whether actual drivers exist, or whether the device in question does properly announce itself as the type of device you expect it to be. Post/check your dmesg when plugging in the card as well as

aplay -l
uname -a
pacman -Q linux
