I have installed the xorg-server package, xorg-xinit, dwm and picom. I also copied the .xinitrc file to ~/ and edited the .xinitrc file to in the end have both
picom &
exec dwm
as well as only
exec dwm
where the twm &, xclock and xterm lines in the original .xinitrc file where removed. Using startx did not work in either case.
When I run startx the first time after a reboot the following messages comes up
The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:
> Warning: Could not resolve keysym XF86EmojiPicker
Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server
warning: no locale support
error, cannot load font from name: 'monospace:size=10'
no fonts could be loaded.
xinit: connection to X server lost
waiting for X server to shut down (II) Server terminated successfully (0). Closing log file.
if I run it a second time is is just the following on one line
waiting for X server to shut down (II) Server terminated successfully (0). Closing log.file. be loaded.xinit: connection to X server lostfatal to the Xserverwar
In the log file the only errors marked are
(EE) Failed to load module "intel" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) Failed to load module "fbdev" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) Failed to load module "vesa" (module does not exist, 0)
Any suggestion for how to fix it?
