Hello guys,
I've installed arch linux in a notebook and then installed Rstudio through yay. However, it started in a plank page, not loading console, editor etc. I thought It was a problem with Rstudio initially but later on I needed Microsoft Teams due to home office and this app also opens in a blank page.
I really have no idea what it can be. What could I do?
thank you
I tried to solve in this other forum: https://plus.diolinux.com.br/t/instalac … arch/43001
wich included resetting Rstudio and add the text

rstudio is Qt5 but teams is gtk3 - reg. the latter, did you see https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/teams and try to pass --no-sandbox?
Are you on wayland and/or is this an optimus system?

Hi. I have installed Qt5 and GTK3 but the problem persists. I already knew about --no-sandbox but this is a turn around, it's annoying you have to open terminal to execute a program that should work out of the box... About the wayland, I have lib32-wayland installed, but in installation I got xorg too.
thanks for helping.

You had that installed before or the clients had not even started…
I already knew about --no-sandbox
But chose to rather withhold that relevant detail?

No, you don't.

So I am assuming that launching these applications directly from a terminal command is successful?
Are you using a Desktop Environment or a Window Manager? It sounds to me like it could be an issue with the way your GUI is attempting to launch these applications.
Desktop: Arch Linux | i3-gaps WM | Intel Core i5-9600K | 16GB RAM | AMD Radeon RX 6700XT | Dual monitors @ 1440p + 1080p
Laptop: Garuda Linux | Sway WM | Dell Latitude E7270 | Intel Core i5-6300U | 16GB RAM
~ Do or do not, there is no try ~

Yes, it's working when launching from terminal. I am using cinnamon.

You don't "have to open terminal to execute a program" - you can either edit the desktop service that's invoked by your menu/runner of choice or shadow the binary w/ a script in /usr/local/bin that runs the binary in /usr/bin with the desired parameters.
Or in this case the teams executable already is a script and all you have to do is to edit that - you can even do that in the PKGBUILD and there's a comment on the AUR explaining how to do that…
