Dual Monitor, KDE, and Widget Icons

Not sure whether this is the right forum to use for this, but it's certainly an issue. . . well, it certainly was an issue. I'm really just wondering whether anyone else has seen the same issue and whether it's been fixed for them too.

The issue is that since 2016, I've had a problem with icons moving from where I placed them on a laptop plus external monitor system. I have two such systems, and it's plagued both of them. I'm using xorg, not wayland. My configuration has been to replicate the laptop screen on the external monitor. If using just the laptop alone, there was no issue. The widget icons would stay where I placed them, but if, as is usually the case, I kept the laptop closed and used only the external monitor, EVERY reboot would result in the widget icons moving away from the right edge of the screen towards the middle of the screen an extra inch or two.

I could never figure out why this was happening, and both laptop and external monitors were set to 1920x1080.

Less than a week ago, a full system update fixed this issue and my widget icons no longer move upon a reboot.

Has anyone else noticed something similar, and does anyone know which software was updated to achieve the fix?
