Sound Not Working, no sound cards recognized

Title describes most of the problem, I'm having a little bit of trouble diagnosing this...

I'm on a latest gen ThinkPad X13

output of inxi -A:

Audio:
Device-1: Intel Tiger Lake-LP Smart Sound Audio
    driver: sof-audio-pci-intel-tgl
  Sound Server-1: ALSA v: k5.16.10-arch1-1 running: yes
  Sound Server-2: PulseAudio v: 15.0 running: yes

aplay -l:

 aplay: device_list:274: no soundcards found...

What else should I send for help?
Thanks

Re: Sound Not Working, no sound cards recognized

Install sof-firmware and if that doesn't fix it post

sudo dmesg | grep -iE 'snd|sof'

Re: Sound Not Working, no sound cards recognized

Still "no cards" in aplay -l or do you have cards now? FWIW this looks a bit weird from a general setup standpoint, if you happen to have cards and they plain don't output you could try /etc/modprobe.d/disableSof.conf

options snd_intel_dspcfg dsp_driver=1

to force use of snd-hda-intel instead, which will generally break mic support but might give you usable speakers.

Re: Sound Not Working, no sound cards recognized

So I was being dumb. A simple restart made things work again. Thanks for the help!

Re: Sound Not Working, no sound cards recognized

Installing sof-firmware solved the problem on HUAWEI MateBook D 16 (Intel Alder Lake PCH-P High Definition Audio,  sof-audio-pci-intel-tgl kernel driver ).  Thanks V1Del!
