external monitor resolution limited to 1920x1080@60

Hi,

I have an MSI PS63 Modern 8RDS with intel UHD 620 and 1050ti maxq. I'm using LG 32qn600 over HDMI which supports upto 2560x1440@75.

The problem I have is that whenever I'm connecting the monitor it only shows upto 1920x1080@60 in xrandr. Forcing it with --newmode can give it only to 2560x1440@30hz which is unusable. Meanwhile it works completely fine with full resolution and refresh rate in windows when I connect with same HDMI cable.

Earlier I had a type-C to HDMI adaptor which gave me 2560x1440@75 on linux as well. I've lost it now so I'm stuck with 1080p when using HDMI to HDMI.

I'm on gnome with wayland and rendering with intel while using nvidia only for cuda. Tried most solution with no avail (on Xorg as well with no results).

Thanks
